What Is Insurance and why do we need to carry a policy?
Insurance is a contract between an insurance company and you (the policy holder) under which you agree to pay insurance premiums and the insurance company agrees to pay for losses under certain carefully defined circumstances.
As a policyholder, insurance safeguards your assets by transferring risk from an individual or business to an insurance company. Understanding & Navigating Insurance can be a complex issue, but in it's simplest form, we need insurance in all facets of life. For example, If you own a home or are renting a house or apartment, you may have renter’s insurance or homeowners. You are most likely covered under some type of health insurance whether that be through your parents, through your place of employment or through a federal or state program such as Medicare, Medicaid, or MNsure.
